Lately I am trying to spend less and save more... so I am trying to come up with ways to "remix" my closet to its fullest potential. I'm too scared to try the 30 for 30 challenge that many bloggers sign up for, so instead I am challenging myself to see if I can take one item and remix it four different ways, once a week... baby steps, maybe after doing this for a while I will try the 30 for 30... who knows.
This is my first attempt, I recently bought a brown and pink skirt with a somewhat geometric, semi floral print at the Goodwill for $8.00... take a look at what I came up with from items in my closet.

The outfit to the left would be good for a date night or even to wear to work, pairing ruffles and pink heels makes the skirt look lighter and polished. The outfit on the right is perfect for hanging out with girlfriends for lunch and a movie, its causal and comfy with just a striped tee and nude flats.

The outfit to the left may be my favorite, its my casual look in comfy flats, but the bold/contrasting tank gives the outfit a somewhat edgy look. The outfit on the right is the skirt shortened by aid of a safety pin in the back {to achieve this, just pinch about an inch of fabric in the back and pin it, it will make the skirt sit higher up on your waist, therefore making it appear shorter}. I wore something similar to the outfit on the right to work today, but didn't shorten my hemline.
At first I wasn't loving this skirt and thought that I had made a regretful purchase, but now that I see its potential I am trying to come up with even more ideas to create new and interesting looks around it. I hope that you guys enjoy my attempt at remixing my closet with one thrifted piece, I cant wait to try it out again next Friday.
