Yes. Once and a while I get an itch to be crafty. Inspired by the Shine Project's weekly challenge, to create something, I decided that I would try out this little craft project that I have been wanting to do for awhile.
Its rather simple... here is a list of what you need:
- Pens, any kind... I used 2 different types, some old ones that I already had and I also bought a 4 pack of clicky pens on sale at Staples for $4.00
- Wire trimmers... bought these at Joann's Fabric for $5.00
- Faux Flowers, good 'ole Dollar Tree... I purchased 2 sets for $1.00 each
- Stem Tape, Joann's Fabric has this for $1.99
- Something to put it all in once its done. I am using a coffee mug that was a gift, so FREE.
Now... on to the How To:
- Snip the faux flower from the bunch, leaving enough stem that you can easily hold it to the pen, I gave about 1.5 to 2 inches.
- Hold the flower in place with one hand, with the other hand, wrap the stem tape around the pen securing the flower stem.
- Keep wrapping the stem tape
- Once the flower is secure, tear off the tape and toss that pretty thing in the container of your choice.
Some notes...
- The particular stem tape I bought was a little sticky, probably because I got the cheapest one offered, and since I didn't want to feel the stickiness while writing, I kept the flower stems shorter and didn't wrap the tape all the way to the end of the pen.
Okay, really easy and very cute. If you make a set, show me the link or send me the picture :)
