Now... on to the the remixing!
While waiting for my prescriptions to be filled yesterday, I stopped in the TJMaxx next to the pharmacy just to browse... Then I found this dress on the end of the jeans rack, I guess someone put it back since it was the only one there and seemed out of sorts hanging out with all that denim. It was a little pricey, $19.99 for a simple cotton dress, but then my wheels started turning and I thought that if I can remix it into five new outfits then it's worth the splurge...
Here goes...
First Remix: Right/Date Night.
Wearing it just as intended with my pink/punch heels and faux turquoise necklace, its very simple but the bright accessories dress up the outfit and make it very girly - perfect for a date night out somewhere casual or fancy.
Second Remix: Left/Wear it to Work
I paired the dress with a bold raspberry blazer and yellow wedges. I kept the jewelry fairly simple with a leather and brass necklace. Now, I probably wouldn't wear this to work myself, since for me its a little short for my office, however if paired with flats it could be a little more my style.
Third Remix: Right/Poolside Party
Wearing it just as intended with a few simple accessories, a headscarf and skinny belt along with nude sandals/flats. It's a simple look, nothing to fussy for just hanging out with friends in or outdoors.
Fourth Remix: Left/Pair it with Denim
I think that this is my favorite since its the most dramatic remix! I slipped a denim a-line skirt over the dress and added some darker brown accessories and a gold-tone necklace. I feel like this outfit could go anywhere; to work - on a date - out to dinner.
Fifth Remix: Right/Weekend
This is a simple and comfy look, the lightweight cardigan doesn't add any bulk and has a large open weave so you can stay cool if its sunny or warm. I paired it with woven flats so that no matter where I ended up in this outfit I would be chic and also comfy.
I hope that you all enjoyed this week's remix... I feel like I could come up with a few more looks with a little more time and thought - and now that I see the possibilities with this dress, I don't regret throwing down the $19.99 on it... each look basically cost me an additional $4.00, you really cant beat that!
I would love to help you start remixing - feel free to email me with suggestions of items that you want to see remixed!
